Tomorrow (Tuesday 5th May) I’m giving a talk as part of Walk Listen Create; an international network of walking artists, researchers and practitioners. The session is called Creating Pilgrimage Routes and it’s an opportunity to share some of the thinking and practice that has been at the heart of my work for several years.
Who are Walk Listen Create
Walk Listen Create is a remarkable community — bringing together artists, writers, sound walkers, poets and cultural practitioners from across the world who use walking as a creative medium. Being invited to speak is both an honour and a chance to connect my own practice with a much wider conversation about what walking can mean and do.
Lundy Pilgrimage
The talk draws on my experience of developing a pilgrimage route on Lundy which I created as part of my MA in Fine Art. The Pilgrimage Passport offers a way of walking the island with intention and attention.

One of the questions that I am sure we will discuss Is ‘what is it that turns a walk into a pilgrimage? ‘ Is it the destination? the intention? the route itself ? — or something that happens inside the walker?
