Spotlight on Island Life: Airing on More4

Advert for our tiny islands

There’s something slightly surreal about seeing your own face looking back at you from a television. A friend sent me this photo — and there I was, smiling out from the screen as the image for Our Tiny Islands. I must admit I screamed with excitement! Then ran around the Marisco Tavern showing everyone!

The series airs tonight the 4/5/26, but I have now been told that we are on 18/5/26 at 9pm. The episode will feature myself and two of my colleagues Ian (Island carpenter) and Tara (Assistant Warden).

Ian, Tara and myself had heard nothing from the Production team so it was a real surprise to see the new series was about to launch. I also had a friend, messge me saying that she had seen a trailer with me swimming off the Jetty. I keep watching More4 to try to see this trailer, but to no avail yet! This one is available though and you might spot Tara looking into a rock pool.

Filming took place last year. In true Lundy style the first planned August date for filming was cancelled due to weather. It was rescheduled for September, which still was slightly inclement!

I’m nervous yet curious to see how my life on Lundy translates on screen. I don’t know if I can watch myself, but I do want to see Ian and Tara and see how the island come across on the programme.

It feels strangely fitting — Just as I am about to leave the Island, I become the poster girl for Island life! The Lundy programme airs on our last night on the Island – Wow – what timing!!

If you’d like to watch, Our Tiny Islands is on More4, starting tonight.

And if you do happen to spot me before I spot myself — do let me know.
